Hasil fase awal berasal dari jumlah peserta yang kecil dan waktu tindak lanjut yang singkat. Hasilnya dapat berubah seiring bertambahnya peserta dan waktu, dan uji klinis yang sedang merekrut, aktif, atau bahkan sudah selesai belum membuktikan bahwa suatu pengobatan berhasil.
